The couple on the wooden bridge

Took this one while we were walking from Petya’s dormitory to the bus stop. The dorms were made from used shipping containers, stacked on top of one another and decently furnished. The buses were sharp as razors. Sofia has a lot of catching up to do. A lot.

Building cranes just off a big Amsterdam library.
Ribbon House

A typical Amsterdam photo, I guess. But I like the ribbons on the house. The bikes just happened to be there, as is always the case in this cool and laid-back city.
Flea-market: Kids’ kingdom

Kids, predominantly gypsies, rule the space. Hurt comes with the territory though – a little boy was practically trampled upon when a fight broke out between two sellers. He almost didn’t cry, and was paid no attention to by mother, fighting men or passing crowd. I tried to raise the issue, but apparently the fight was more interesting – even to the kid.

Just a little snapshot of the vastness of choice you get on the market.

Everybody smokes there. Of course.
Flea-market: Breakfast on bag

Here’s a series of shots I made during a recent visit to a Sofia flea-market (and by this I mean a real flea-market with real fleas!). Was there with Nadia and Nedyalko, and was advised by the latter to shoot secretly, so as to stay out of trouble and also get real, non-premeditated images. Did it, with my phone camera.
Two pairs of eyes

A couple of wedding guests, gazing with intent. Maybe they still haven’t had enough rakia. Or maybe they had too much already…
