Indian Tale

One of my latest commercials, shot in a field outside of Sofia. Native American culture has always been very attractive to me, so I am happy I got to do a little thing on it, even if it’s only a commercial. It features Pelo, a colleague of mine, whom I’ve always thought a good Indian chief; a very talented little boy, Volen; and the Young Indian, Miro, who got to roll in the grass with two girls, while his pregnant woman, Mira, was hiding in the shadow. The bastard… The story itself is preposterous, come to think of it, but the visual side of it was so interesting to create.
The Testimony 1

A campaign for a somewhat controversial pensioner fund company. I quite enjoyed shooting it, as I was given almost complete freedom with it. The good look is due to Antonio, one of my favourite Spanish directors of protography. His English and my Spanish sucked, so here is how we understood each other: Mucho nice! Con flashes! Me gusta! Mucho, mucho! You like…aa…que te parece? Vamos a rodar!

This one was quite interesting to make, though I’m not 100% happy with how some little parts came out. Was very lucky with the actor, Sandi (one of Ambient Anarchists, check them out), whose spine must still be feeling the effects of a day-long jumping on a large trampoline – his performance was quite understated and funny as a result. Realised that sometimes, as a director, you do have to do some basic fucking maths – and I hate maths, even if only basic!

The second beer ad, which I like just a bit better than the first…

A big, but casual in its nature project for a Bulgarian beer brand. Some episodes came out better than others, but I generally like the feel of the commercial.

Another ad from the same series that I think came out good…
